The Secrets of S.U.C.C.E.S.S…

We write a lot of stories of success in these pages of my blog. But the definition of success isn’t always easy to agree upon.

Some believe success is measured by how much money you have or how many assets you own. Others believe success is all about living in accordance with values… while some say success is a matter of constant growth…

For me, achieving SUCCESS hasn’t always been easy… Life isn’t paved with gold. But if you follow these seven tips of SUCCESS you stand to do quite well…

Using the letters of SUCCESS, I’ll explain…

S for example stands for a sense of direction, a goal… We all need a purpose in life, whether it’s with business, personal life or otherwise. Be sure to choose a single goal and throw all the energy and passion you can muster into making it a reality.

U is for understanding. Once you have chosen your target, your purpose, your way of achieving it, you must accumulate the knowledge and understanding to make it a long-lasting reality. Knowledge – as we all say – is power.

C is for courage. This is the courage we all need to act against popular thought… and weather the storm of potential criticism. In new business ventures, up to 80% of all entrepreneurs will fail. But it’s those with absolute courage that get up and try again…. No one said this was easy. But with courage, anything is possible.

C is for communication. Of all of the knowledge to possess, communication tops the list. If you’re unable to communicate well, you won’t succeed. You must clearly and persuasively communicate thoughts and ideas. As Forbes has noted, “It is simply impossible to become a great leader without being a great communicator…”

E is for enthusiasm. Exude confidence in yourself, in your idea, in your business. No one wants to buy what you’re selling if you lack sincere belief and passion for your own product.

S is for self-discipline. Develop a habit of finishing important, critical tasks before you head out of the office. Self-disciple leads to great habit formation with can lead to wild success, however you define your success to be.

And the final S is for start. Once everything else is in place – your sense of direction, your understanding, your courage and commitment, your communication strategy, your enthusiasm and drive for self-disciple, then you’re ready to start.

Get out there and become a success…

As the Father of Taoism once noted, “A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.” And should you find your first step to be difficult, just do it… make it happen.

Become a great success…
